What is actually offered
Not treatments — practices, run by people who do them anyway.
Gentle hatha with a Rishikesh-trained local teacher. Three mornings a week.
Walking very slowly in oak forest. No talking after the first ten minutes.
Twenty-five minutes at dusk in the temple grove, uncut for two centuries.
The April waterfall is eight degrees. You go in, you shout, you come out changed.
By arrangement, nobody speaks to you before eleven — breakfast included.
Two to five, deliberately unscheduled. The actual intervention, and free.
Slow living
None of these are things you do. They are true of the place — and they do most of the work.
A stillness day
The shape of the Stillness package. Nobody is held to it — half abandon it by day three for long walks. On request the kitchen goes lighter, with dinner at 6.30 and no tea after four.
Because of the light. Tea outside your door on a steel tray.
Sixty to seventy-five minutes with our yoga teacher, facing north.
Nobody speaks to you before eleven if you requested it.
Three hours, two kilometres, a lot of standing still in oak.
The empty afternoon — hammock, book, terrace. Two to five.
Twenty-five minutes at dusk under two-hundred-year-old oak.
The only fixed point. Even the silent guests start talking here.
Questions
Anything else — ask us on WhatsApp. We answer honestly, including when the answer is ‘we don’t do that’.
No. Nothing here is compulsory and nobody keeps a register. About half of guests try it once and decide they would rather sleep — also a wellness outcome.
Yes. Our teacher teaches a gentle hatha sequence and modifies for anyone. Tell her about a back or knee injury before, not during.
Yes, and it will be respected without comment. Ask on the first evening and say when it starts and ends.
No. There is a good Ayurvedic practitioner in Pithoragarh, 55 km away, and we will give you the number.
Possibly — please tell us in advance so we can be useful rather than clumsy. But we are a family with a spare room, not clinicians; arrange professional support before you come.
We will keep it in the kitchen drawer if you ask. We have done it eight times; six asked for it back within a day.
The afternoon with nothing in it. Three nights to feel it; six to stop resisting it.
